ZECHARIAH 13:8 - Strike the shepherd, that the sheep may be scattered; I will turn my hand against the little ones. And I will put this third into the fire, and refine them as one refines silver, and test them as gold is tested. They will call on my name and I will answer them. JOEL 6:11 - And he said: Until cities lie waste without inhabitant, and houses without men, and the land is utterly desolate, and the Lord removes men far away, and the forsaken places are many in the midst of the land. And though a tenth remain in it, it will be burned again, like a terebinth or an oak, whose stump remains standing when it is felled. The holy seed is its stump.
ISAIAH 10:21 - A remnant will return, the remnant of Jacob, to the mighty God. For though your people Israel be as the sand of the sea, only a remnant of them will return. Destruction is decreed, overflowing with righteousness. For the Lord of hosts will make a full end, as decreed, in the midst of all the earth.
JEREMIAH 5:10 - Go up through her vine-rows and destroy, but make not a full end; strip away her branches, for they are not the Lord’s.
