At the same time, I considered myself one, if not the wealthiest man in the little town where I live in the South of the USA. You see amigos, folks and blokes, I’m debt free and I only have one Credit Card that I have as an emergency. One a while, I purchase something with it but I always paid the total amount at the end of the month to keep it open. I’m in my mid 70’s and live on fixed income, very fixed, Social Security alone. However, when I’m low on money I have beans and bread, 'pan de barra' [Baguette], and maybe a little glass of red wine. My Mother was a very wise woman, beside a Saint. In the late 1940’s she began having kids and end up having 12. I was the third and born in the early 1950’s and 'la recua continuó naciendo' long after that. Food was precious but my Mother in her wisdom managed to feed us all. We were poor due to many reasons, civil war, WWII, and after all that the US embargo to Franco’s regime for some years. However, beans, bread, potato, eggs, lettuces and other vegetables were available easily. Olive Oil was abundant and inexpensive and it was a staple for our beautiful and resolvable Mother. She will split a 'pan de barra' [Baguette] in three and cut each in the middle to make a 'bocadillo' [Sandwich] were She spread Olive Oil, preferable Virgin Olive Oil and sprinkled sugar over the Oil. There She went three meals for her hungry children. I just love it and even today sometimes I have a 'bocadillo' of Virgin Olive Oil. That is how I manage the expenses of queeslaverdad.com; I 'have been given back' before it was in fashion: I always had!''
