(12/12/2019) THE HOUSE OF MORGAN: I commit my soul into the hands of my savior, wrote John Pierpont Morgan in his will, in full confidence that having redeemed it and washed it in His most precious blood, He will present it faultless before my heavenly father, and I entreat my children to maintain and defend at all hazard and at any cost of personal sacrifice the blessed doctrine of complete atonement for sin through the blood of Jesus Christ once offered and through that alone, and into the hands of the House of Morgan represented by his son, he committed, when he died in Rome in 1913, the control of the Morgan interests in New York, Paris, and London, four national banks, three trust companies, three life insurance companies, ten railroad systems, three streetrailway companies, an express company, the International Mercantile Marine, power, on the cantilever principle, through interlocking directorates, over eighteen other railroads, U.S. Steel, General Electric, American Tel. and Tel., five major industries; the interwoven cables of the Morgan-Stillman-Baker combination of banking resources of the world.

The first Morgan to make a pool was Joseph Morgan, a hotelkeeper in Hartford, Connecticut, who organized stage coach lines and bought up Aetna Life Insurance stock in a time of panic cause by one of the big New York fires in the 1830’s; his son Junius followed in his footsteps, first in the drygoods business, and then as partner to George Peabody, a Massachusetts banker who built up an enormous underwriting and mercantile business in London and became a friend of Queen Victoria; Junius married the daughter of John Pierpont, a Boston preacher, poet, eccentric, and abolitionist; and their eldest son, John Pierpont Morgan, arrived in New York to make his fortune after being trained in England, going to school at Vevey, proving himself a crack mathematician at the University of Göttingen, a lanky morose young man of twenty, just in time for the panic of ‘57 (war and panics on the stock exchange, bankruptcies, warloans, good growing weather for the House of Morgan).

When the guns started booming at Fort Sumter, young Morgan turned some money over reselling condemned muskets to the U.S. Army and began to make himself felt in the Gold Room in downtown New York; there was more in trading in gold than in trading in muskets; so much for the Civil War. During the Franco-Prussian War Junius Morgan floated a huge bond issue for the French government at Tours. At the same time young Morgan was fighting Jay Cooke and the German-Jew bankers in Frankfort over the funding of the American war debt (he never did like the German or the Jews).

The panic of ’73 ruined Jay Cooke and made J. Pierpont Morgan the boss croupier of Wall street; he united with the Philadelphia Drexels and built the Drexel Building where for thirty years he sat in his glassedin office, redfaced and insolent, writing in his desk, smoking great black cigars, or, if important issues were involved, playing solitaire in his inner office; he was famous for his few words, Yes or No, and for his way of suddenly blowing up in a visitor’s face and for that special gesture of the arm that meant, What do I get out of it?

I ’77 Junius Morgan retired; J. Pierpont got himself made a member of the board of directors of the New York Central Railroad and launched the first Corsair. He liked yachting and to have pretty actresses call him Commodore. He founded the Lying-n Hospital on Stuyvesant Square, and was fond of going into Saint George’s church and singing a hymn all alone in the afternoon quiet.

In the panic of ’93 at no inconsiderable profit to himself Morgan saved the U.S. Treasury: gold was draining out, the country was ruined, the farmers were howling for a silver standard, Grover Cleveland and his cabinet were walking up and down in the blue Room at the White House without being able to come to a decision, in Congress they were making speeches while the gold reserves melted in the Subtreasuries; poor people were starving; Coxey’s army was marching to Washington; for a long time Grover Cleveland couldn’t bring himself to call in the representative of Wall street moneymasters; Morgan sat in his suite at the Arlington smoking cigars and quietly solitaire until at last the President sent for him; he had a plan all ready for stopping the gold hemorrhage. After that what Morgan said went; when Carnegie sold out he built the Steel Trust.

J. Pierpont Morgan was a bullnecked irascible man with small black magpie’s eyes and a growth on his nose; he let his partners work themselves to death over the detailed routine of banking, and sat in his back office smoking black cigars; when there was something to be decided he said Yes or No or just turned his back and went back to his solitaire.

Every Christmas his librarian read him Dickens’s A Christmas Carol from the original manuscript. He was fond of canarybirds and Pekinese dogs and liked to take pretty actresses yachting. Each Corsair was a finer vessel than the last. When he dined with King Edward he sat at His majesty’s right; he ate with the Kaiser tête-à-tête; he liked talking to cardinals or the Pope, and never missed a conference of the Episcopal bishops; Rome was his favorite city.

He liked choice cookery and old wines and pretty women and yachting, and going over his collections, now and then picking up a jeweled snuffbox and staring at it with his magpie’s eyes. He made a collection of the autographs of rulers of France, owned glass cases full of Babylonian tables, seals, signets, statuettes, busts, Gallo-Roman bronzes, Merovingian jewels, miniatures, watches, tapestries, porcelains, cuneiform inscriptions, paintings by all the old masters, Dutch, Italian, Flemish, Spanish, manuscripts of Gospels and the Apocalypse, a collection of the works of Jean-Jacques Rousseau, and the letters of Pliny the Younger.

His collectors bought anything that was expensive or rare or had the glint of empire on it, and he had it brought to him and stared hard at it with his magpie’s eye. Then it was put in a glass case. The last year of his life he went up the Nil on a dahabeeyah and spent a long time staring at the great columns of the Temple of Karnak. The panic of 1907 and the death of Harriman, his great opponent in railroad financing, in 1909, had left him the undisputed ruler of Wall Street, most powerful private citizen in the world; an old man tired of the purple, suffering from gout, he had deigned to go to Washington to answer the questions of the Pujo Committee during the Money Trust Investigation: yes I did what seemed to me to be for the best interest of the country. JOE HILL   A young Swede named Hillstrom went to sea, got himself calloused hands on sailingships and tramps, learned English in the fo’c’stle of the steamers that make the run from Stockholm to Hull, dreamed the Swede’s dream of the west; when he got to America they gave him a job polishing cuspidors in a Bowery saloon. Wesley Everest was a logger like Paul Bunyan. On Memorial Day 1019 the boys of the American Legion in Centralia led by a group from the Chamber of Commerce wrecked the I.W.W. hall, beat up everybody they found in it, jailed some and piled the rest of the boys in a truck and dumped them over the county line, burned the papers and pamphlets and auctioned off the fittings for the red Cross; the wobblies’ desk still stands in the Chamber of Commerce. The loggers hired a new hall and the union kept on growing. Not a thing in this world Paul Bunyan’s ascared of.

Before the Armistice Day, 1919, the town was full of rumors that on that day the hall would be raided for keeps. A young man of good family and pleasant manners, Warren O. Grimm, had been an officer with the American force in Siberia; that made him an authority on labor and Bolsheviks, so he was chosen by the business to lead the hundred per cent forces in the Citizens’ Protective League to put the fear of God into Paul Bunyan. The first thing the brave patriots did was pick up a blind newsdealer and thrash him and drop him in a ditch across the county line. The loggers consulted counsel and decided they had a right to defend their hall and themselves in case of the raid. Not a thing in this world Paul Bunyan’s ascared of.

Wesley Everest was a crack shot; Armistice Day he put on his uniform and filled his pockets with cartridges. Wesley Everest was not much of a talker; at a meeting in the union hall the Sunday before the raid, there’d been talk of the chance of a lynching bee; Wesley Everest had been walking up and down the aisle with his O.D. coat on over a suit of overalls, distributing literature and pamphlets; when the boys said they wouldn’t stand for another raid, he stopped in his tracks with the papers under his arm, rolled himself a brownpaper cigarette and smiled a funny quiet smile.

Armistice Day was raw and cold; the mist rolled in from Puget Sound and dripped from the dark boughs of the spruces and the shiny storefronts of the town. Warren O. Grimm commanded the Centralia section of the parade. The exsoldiers were in their uniforms. When the parade passed by the union hall without halting the loggers inside breathed easier, but on the way back the parade halted in front of the hall. Somebody whistled through his fingers. Somebody yelled, “Let’s go … at ‘em, boys.” They ran towards the wobbly hall. Three men crashed through the door. A rifle spoke. Rifles cracked on the hills back of the town, reared in the back of the hall. Grimm and an exsoldier were hit. The Parade broke in disorder, but the men with the rifles formed again and rushed the hall. They found a few unarmed men hiding in an old icebox, a boy in uniform at the head of the stairs with his arms over his head.

Wesley Everest shot his magazine of his rifle out, dropped it and ran for the woods. As he ran he broke through the crowd in the back of the hall, held them off with a blue automatic, scaled a fence, and doubled down an alley and through the back street. The mob followed. They dropped the coils of rope they had with them to lynch Britt Smith the I.W.W secretary. It was Wesley Everest’s drawing them off that kept them from lynching Britt Smith right there. Stopping once or twice to hold the mob off with some scattered shots, Wesley Everest ran for the river, started to wade across. Up to his waits in water he stopped and turned. Wesley Everest turned to face the mob with a funny quiet smile on his face. He’d lost his hat and his hair dripped with water and sweat. They started to rush him.

“Stand back,” he shouted, “if there’s bulls in the crowd I’ll submit to arrest.” The mob was at him. He shot from the hip four times, then his gun jammed. He tugged at the trigger, and taking cool aim shot the foremost of them dead. It was dale Hubbard, another exsoldier, nephew of one of the big lumbermen of Centralia. The he threw his empty gun away and fought with his hands. The mob had him. A man bashed his teeth in with the butt of a shotgun. Somebody brought a rope and they started to hang him. A woman elbowed through the crowd and pulled the rope off his neck. “You haven’t the guts to hang a man in the daytime,’ was what Wesley Everest said. They took him to the jail and threw him on the floor of the cell. Meanwhile they were putting the other loggers through the third degree. That night the city lights were turned off. A mob smashed in the outer door of the jail. “Don’t shoot, boys, here’s your man,” said the guard. Wesley Everest met them on his feet, “Tell the boys I did my best,” he whispered to the men in the other cells.

They took him off in a limousine to the Chehalis River Bridge. As Wesley Everest lay stunned in the bottom of the car, a Centralia businessman cut his penis and testicles off with a razor. Wesley Everest gave a great scream of pain. Somebody has remembered that after a while he whispered, “For God’s sake, men, shoot me … don’t let me suffer like this.’ Then they hanged him from the bridge in the glare of the headlights. The coroner at his inquest though it was a great joke. He reported that Wesley Everest had broken out of jail and run to the Chehalis River Bridge and tied a rope around his neck and jumped off, finding the rope to short he’d climbed back and fastened on a longer one, had jumped off again, broke his neck and shoot himself full of holes. The jammed the mangled wreckage into a packing box and buried it. Nobody knows where they buried the body of Wesley Everest, but the six loggers they caught they buried in the Walla Walla Penitentiary.

THE TALE OF THE ‘OVERNIGHT MAKING’ OF BILLIONAIRES FAST AND FURIOUS! It is a subtle repetition of the Robber Barons, though at this moment in time, way much faster. Again: Fast and Furious! The ‘man’ was dressed in a $5 thousand brown suit of fine linen of very European style, double breasted, the one that not only is worn by Wealthy individuals, but also Politicians and Mafiosi, these latter ones sometimes known as the Teflon or Dapper Dons. He wore an impeccable white shirt well ironed and the end of the sleeves showed two solid gold cufflinks with round ends like coins. On one side stamped there could be seen the ‘sigla’ of a “Royal Club” and on the other the ‘sigla’ of an “Ecclesiastic Club”, the entire outfit topped all with a golden tie. One of the two innocent young men, the one with ‘sendas gafas’, walked out of the garage towards the street and noticed no car parked, and turning back he went inside the garage again. “Who are you and how did you get here”?

Optimist I am in the sense that every single God’s Prophesy comes to pass, for there it is where my entire ‘hope and redemption’ rests: The Faith Of Je’sus Christ (Refer to: Galatians 2:16), not in the faith of Christianity! The honchos in charge of the Nation at that moment in time scared the wits out of both generations, and the World wouldn’t be the same, or so it seemed. And by the way, the same honchos talked about these two generations like exclusively Made in America; like implying that the births clock stopped anywhere else in the World. Like almost in everything else America First, “The Greatest Generation” and the “The Baby Boomers” were and still are America at its best, but behold honchos of our moment in time, there are not many left alive.

These past honchos declared that the Red color was toxic, that it was ugly. But they didn’t stop there; their final and most ominous declaration of the Red color was that it was evil, for it was the color of the ‘devil’ for all practical purposes and intentions: Satan himself with horns and a big fork!

(1/23/2020) Some of those still alive from these two generations, “The Greatest Generation” and the “The Baby Boomers”, might still remember the ‘drills’ perpetrated on them even as children, for what else could that be called; it is like today, the ‘Fourth Impeachment Drill of America’, which really means the ‘impeachment of ye the people’ by the sole political party the ‘Repucrats’ of the ‘American Regime’, with all that entitles the Nation: ♪The winner takes it all [The Repucrat Party]♪♪ ♪The loser standing small [Ye the people take the shaft]♪♪♪/. A very exciting time it was for those that were part of “The Greatest Generation” and “The Baby Boomers”, but the ones that were having a boom-boom helluva time, kind of like having a ball, were: The Big Honchos! At last, like a miracle just happened, at midnight the ‘rabietas/tantrums’ suddenly stopped. Silence, like ‘twas the night before the Nightmare, when nowhere in the house no one was stirring, not even the big baby boy’s ‘cricetino/hamster’ called Midas. All in the ‘familia/family’ fell asleep in the ‘big baby boy’s room, but behold, except one, and guess who? ‘Sigilosamente/stealthily’ while the rest of the ‘familia/family’ were soundly at sleep, ‘big baby boy’ only wearing big ‘pañales/diapers’ dragged himself and made it down the ‘escaleras/stairs’ to the big ‘familia/family’ room ‘genuinamente/genuinely’ concerned with Midas, and after picking Midas up the ‘big baby boy’ placed Midas on his right broad shoulder. Something curious was noticed by ‘big baby boy’; Midas was running, as if Midas was in a marathon, from the right shoulder to the left shoulder back and forth without taking a break.

THE EARLY MORNING DAWN was sneaking in through a window of the ‘big baby boy’s room: Mama woke up first and looking around exclaimed in panic: Holy Cow! That woke up papa next and looking around exclaimed in panic as well: Holy Macaroni! That woke up grandma next and looking around exclaimed in terror: Holy Ham! That woke up the last but not least of the ‘familia/family’ that were ‘roncando/snoring’ the night away in the ‘big baby boy’s room: Grandpa! Looking around as well exclaimed ‘aterrorizado/terrorized’: ¡Santo/Holy Jamón Serrano!

THE ‘BIG BABY BOY’ kept busy all during the night, down and up and up and down all through the house. ‘Big baby boy’s room was a total mess and the walls were painted with vivid “red crayon” showing different figures, one of them seemed to look like a giant ‘pantano/swamp’ and coming out of it fumes and vapors that undoubtedly looked toxic. Next to it a house illuminated with many colors as if it was the ‘Arco Iris/Rainbow’. On the ‘west wall’ could be read several very strange writings on the wall: ‘Compassionate Conservatism’ followed by ‘No Child Left Behind’ and what followed that was even more strange: ‘Partners in Crime’, ‘Hope & Change’ and ending with a musical note, a cantata: ♪♪♪Nobody does it better♪♪♪ ♪♪♪Makes him feel sad for the rest♪♪♪ ♪♪♪Nobody does it half as good as me♪♪♪ ♪♪♪Baby, I’m the best♪♪♪

It is like a ‘riddle within a riddle’, who could be able to ‘descifrar/decipher’ it, these ‘writings on the wall of ‘big baby boy’s room? ‘Seguridad Casa del Campo’? ‘Centro Internacional of Ashes’, CIA? Nada Seguro Agencia’, NSA?

FINALLY the four, mama, papa, grandma and grandpa, encouraging one another came out of the ‘big baby boy’s room to the upper hallway approaching ‘sigilosamente/stealthily’ the ‘escaleras/stairs’. One behind the other in a line with their hands on the shoulders of the one in front, as if for protection, for they were not dancing the conga, but in reality they looked pathetic, a pathetic chain of terrorized individuals. The line was headed by the most ‘valiente/brave’ of the group: Grandma! They came down the stairs ever so carefully probing every step of the way down for booby traps, but mercifully there were none. When they reached the bottom step and looked around the ample main living room of the house, their mouths opened slowly to the max, and their eyes opened as well as if they were ‘búhos/owls’ and round as a ‘fake coin pence’; the four of them, grandma, mama, grandpa and papa (that was the order of the human chain, the line, as they approached the ample main living room of the house) screamed in unison: That’s our ‘big baby boy’!

‘BIG BABY BOY’ was found by the astonished four, grandma, mama, grandpa and papa, the unwavering and faithful members of ‘La Familia/Family’, that no matter what ‘big baby boy’ does, he has their support, for there is a season, and a time to pluck up that which is planted, and a time to break down, a time to weep, a time to mourn, a time to cast away stones, a time to rend (Ecclesiastes 3), he was found laying down in the middle of the living room and on the carpet snoring his dreams away peacefully with a thumb in his mouth, while Midas’s head rested on one of the ‘big baby boy’s toe.

Utter destruction surrounded the sleeping ‘big baby boy’ except for the ‘walls’ that somehow, maybe miraculously, were spared so damning a destruction as if left intact for the purpose of sending a message of what might come next. The entire house was in such ‘hecatombe’, and no room was spared again except the walls, as if it was a skeleton of what it once was, a prosperous and gilded dwelling place of the privileged and some of the servants, a real mansion that no longer was.

IT SEEMED as if a Hurricane or a big Twister from within had imploded. And from without, the house looked as if nothing had happened inside, with the expansive ground’s green turf well manicured, and the beds of beautiful flowers everywhere including a Rose Garden. A House all painted in White as a sign of purity left by the Puritans on an early arrival from the old side of the great divide, the Great Wall of Water that is the Atlantic Ocean separating the “Old World” from the “New World”, or so it was told.
